A washed-up minor-league pitcher takes a paycheck to coach the worst Little League team in California — a ragtag bunch of misfits who can barely catch, let alone win. As he whips them into shape with the help of a fastball-throwing girl and a motorcycle-riding troublemaker, the team discovers there's more to the game than talent. Funny, scrappy, and refreshingly unsentimental.
