SAT 11/21 Kumihimo: Japanese bracelet for YOUTH

  • Hutchinson Center for the Arts 218 Main Street South, STE 100 Hutchinson, MN, 55350 United States (map)

AGES: 8-12

TEACHER: Megan Larson

Cast: $30.00

Kumihimo (Japanese Multi Stranded Braiding): This centuries old braiding technique was originally used to make cords to tie on the armor of Samurai warriors. Using a simple 8 sided loom and satin cord, participants will learn to make 7 and 8 stranded braids that can be used as friendship bracelets, bookmarks, and many other things. We will complete the bracelets with metal jewelry clasps for a professional finish, and each student will be able to take their loom home with them so they can make more kumihimo braids on their own.
