Shibori artist Carol Gustavson showed her work and talked to guests at a reception at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts Friday night. Her work is on display at the arts center until Nov. 19. Joanie Halter created a Japanese themed buffet. Shibori is the ancient Japanese art of silk dying. Gustavson uses all natural dyes that she creates from roots and plants. She will teach the art this Saturday and Sunday at the arts center. Space is still available both days. Email info@HutchinsonArts.org to register. Gustavson’s work is currently for sale at the arts center including silk scarves and shirts that would make one of a kind Christmas gifts.
