We are pleased to announce another community storytelling event coming to the art center on April 28, 2019.
Last year’s event, Origin Story was hosted by Laura Aase and featured storyteller Mary Gruis. Attendance was good and many guests stepped up spontaneously to share their Origin Story. The event was so well received we have committed to adding this program as an annual event.
This year’s theme is Pivot and our host is local actor and writer Kurt Schulz. Kurt worked with Executive Director, Lisa Bergh to develop this year’s theme.
“After sharing our thoughts on the importance storytelling to build community connections and brainstorming ideas that are broad enough to encompass many points of entry we agreed every great story has a PIVOT – the moment when a different truth is revealed, the edge of a new understanding. These pivotal times can be rooted in humor, sadness, joy, triumph, loss, or strength,” said Lisa Bergh.
Kurt will serve as the Host and featured story teller. Audience members will be invited to share their PIVOT stories throughout the event. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and accessible for all who care to share a story.
Come contribute your story of insight, changing course, or epiphany. There will be an open mic time to tell your 2 – 5 minute PIVOT story.
Come and tell a story or come, lean in, and have a listen.
