The Fiber Arts Guild is forming to bring together people with creative interests in projects associated with fibers: quilters, sewers, knitters, weavers, and more! The group meets at the Center for the Arts in Hutchinson on the second Thursday of each month at 4:30. Programs are varied and include hands on projects, speakers, demonstrations, and resource sessions.
All Seasons by Jan Urban
This artist is a lifelong resident of the area and recalls making her first quilts from wool that she purchased at garage sales. Jan is a mother to 5 children and a former 3M shift worker. She still looks forward to working with new techniques and materials, like Crazy Quilts and Denim. Come and wander through the seasons of the year by viewing her most recent quilt collection.
October 9th – October 30th, with an introductory reception for Jan Urban on October 9th from 6pm to 8pm. Jan’s quilts will be on display following the introductory reception.
Events are also planned for all other months on the second Thursday at 4:30. The topics will be announced in the local newspaper.
New members and guests are welcome to attend events and join us as we promote various aspects of Fiber Arts in the area. We work to bring together artists, crafters, and the business world in our diverse group.
