Partner Profile: Hutchinson Theatre Company

Taffetas1What are the benefits of being a Partner Organization of the Hutchinson Center for the Arts?

By partnering with the Hutchinson Center for the Arts, we (the Hutchinson Theatre Company and other partner organizations) are able to pool our resources and offer a larger variety of arts to the community. The HCA provides a home for the HTC to hold meetings and store props.

How does Hutchinson Theatre Company Bring The Arts To Life in Hutchinson?

Since 2003, the Hutchinson Theatre Company has produced three shows per year (spring, summer and fall). We are dedicated to bringing people of different ages and backgrounds from Hutchinson and the surrounding area together to create high-quality community theater.

The YoungStars program is a 4-week theatre educational workshop targeted for area youth who have completed grades 4-8.  The program is also designed to provide practical leadership and work experience for an Assistant Director and Teen Mentors.YoungStars

HTC produces its first play of the 2016 season at the Art Center in April. What can the audience expect to experience during the performance?

Laura Hunt was the idea modern woman: beautiful, elegant, highly ambitious, and mysterious. No man could resist her charms—not even the tough, respected NYPD detective sent to find out who killed her so viciously. As Mark investigates the case he gets to know her intimately through the three men who loved her, is mesmerized by her portrait, and finds himself seduced by her. When Laura appears in the middle of a storm, the murder mystery takes new turns; who was murdered, who is the murderer, and why? Everyone will enjoy this “who-dun-it love story with film noir tones.”

The Hutchinson Theatre Company Board of Directors is excited to introduce the Director of Laura: Mike Martin.

Mike is an experienced actor with HTC and making his debut as a Director.
