Hutchinson Photography Club
What are some benefits your organization sees about collaborating with Hutchinson Center for the Arts?
Photography is an art form so it is natural to collaborate with an organization such as Hutchinson Center for the Arts to promote photography through showcases and other events. We are also very fortunate to have a great venue for our monthly meetings. We also appreciate that the Center helps to promote our events through its social media sites. What new elements has the club added to the Photography Club Annual Showase?
We have changed the submission rules this year allowing only 5 photos that were taken during the last year; this ensures that prints are not repeated and that members have worked on getting their best shot. During the showcase our visitors can experience delicious food catered by Zellas and music by Marc Vaillancourt. The judges this year will be Jon Otteson, Wade McDonald and Rikk Flohr. The Hutchinson Photography Club Annual Showcase will be at the Hutchinson Center for the Arts on Saturday, Nov. 14th from 5-8pm. Click HERE for more information.
What are some events that the Photography does each year?
Each year we bring in several professional photographers that talk about different techniques and aspects of photography. We go out and on photo shooting field trips and spend day, a weekend or longer out in the field. During the last MEA we went to Door County, WI and spent 3 days taking pictures of fall colors. One of our goals for 2016 is to extend our program to offer more hands on sessions with members that are interested in basic and/or advanced photography techniques. Interested in becoming a member?
