There is a dynamic power house of leadership driving the Hutchinson Center for the Arts. Our Board of Directors is comprised of community members from all backgrounds who are passionate about building a strong arts community. It is my honor as Executive Director to work with each of them.
I am pleased to introduce you to these extraordinary Arts Advocates helping to support our creative community which is vibrant, inclusive, and a vital part of the local economy. With their leadership and vision Hutchinson has become a regional hub for arts and culture. – Lisa Bergh, Executive Director.

I have always been interested in art. Art is important, it’s a part of our history, an opportunity to learn about other cultures. Skills and heritage that needs to be remembered, honored and passed on. Art is an outlet, giving someone the opportunity to express what they are feeling and convey that to viewers on another level. As a viewer, I have experienced the energy that passes between oneself and a piece of art. It is an amazing thing – electric even and can transport you somewhere else.
COVID has really brought me back to art. I truly feel that it impacts our health by stimulating our thoughts, moods and feelings, a way of coping at times. I was always in some type of art class in high school, I have dabbled in poetry, batik and pottery. I was first introduced to the Hutchinson Center of the Arts in December of 2016 when I attended an alcohol inks class given by Mary Jo Wentz. I have recently taken virtual classes for watercolor painting, acrylic painting and drawing to brush up on my artistic skills.
I am excited to be a part of a great team and the opportunities that lay ahead for Hutchinson Center of the Arts. – Kerry Ward.
