June 18, 2011

Gyotaku is the ancient Japanese art of painting with fish.

Visit the Hutchinson Center for the Arts Saturday, June 18 anytime between 11 am and 4 pm to create an original, one of a kind t-shirt with fish!!!! Yes – fish! The creativity is endless. This is a FREE community event hosted by the HCA for all ages – kids and adults will have fun creating their own Gyotaku. Bring your own t-shirt or receive one for FREE at the arts center while they last. Or, you can paint on paper, shorts, backpacks or any item of clothing you bring along.

Paints and paper and FISH will be provided! We will help the youngsters with their creation.

This is NOT a class as stated in the Hutchinson Leader. Stop by any time between 11 am and 3 pm and have fun painting. Creating a t-shirt can take as little as 15 minutes, or stay longer and get creative. This activity is for both kids and adults – everyone can participate.

If you hate fish – paint with foam stamps, stencils or free-hand. We will have all available.

No pre-registration necessary – just stop by!
