The Phoenix Drumline is non-profit community organization dedicated to providing an additional fine arts experience for the youth of Hutchinson, Glencoe, Litchfield, Hector, Buffalo Lake, Brownton, Silver Lake and the surrounding areas in the form of a community drumline. By developing and promoting local talent, the members of the Phoenix Drumline are seen as youth ambassadors representing our central Minnesota communities.

The Crow River Drumline Association, a parent-run organization, oversees the administration and financial operation of the Phoenix Drumline. All proceeds raised by the CRDA is invested for the operation, equipment, and instructor fees needed for the Drumline. The CRDA is a member of the Minnesota Percussion Association.

Phoenix Drumline is open to all students in grades 7 to 12, and consists of two elements: a summer marching unit from June through August, and a winter competitive unit from November through March. Open houses are held at the Hutchinson Mall prior to the start of each season. No experience is necessary to join the Phoenix Drumline, just a willingness to learn!

Summer marching unit will perform in several area parades. These include, but are not limited to, Hutchinson, Glencoe, Maynard, Silver Lake, Litchfield,Olivia, Hector, and Cokato, as well as several performances at the State Fair. Practices are held at the McLeod County Fairgrounds with dates and times determined by the instructor(s).

Winter competition will start with attendance at the Day of Percussion held through the Minnesota Percussion Association in January, and will also include several performances throughout central Minnesota and the greater Twin Cities areas. These performances are determined in November of each year, usually starting in February and ending with State Finals in either March or April. Practice location, dates, and times are determined in conjunction with the instructor(s).
