“I try to spend at least a part of every day in my studio. I think of myself primarily as a painter but I also make lots of etchings which compliment my work in an entirely different medium with its inherent problems and rewards. Being an artist and leading a creative life has been an absolutely marvelous experience. ” Bob Mattson
